We had a small party for Shawn a few weeks ago when Elora, Joven and Davanika were in. Of course we had a theme of Madagascar since it contains some of his favorite animals. I even was adventurous and made penguin cupcakes. They were fun to make and look pretty good! To celebrate his birthday we went to the zoo, despite it being very cold and rainy. We also had lots of fun playing play dough and some party games. Shawn loved the attention and all the animals on things.
All the kids helped make the penguin cupcakes. The idea came from the book, Hello, Cupcake. All the cupcakes in the book were designed to be done at home with things you have or were able to get. The kids loved looking at the book and picking their favorites. The penguin was Shawn's favorite.
We have a ton of play dough at our house and all the kids stayed at the table for a very long time enjoying all of the different kits.
Happy Birthday Shawn! More Birthday celebration is coming up this weekend. We are currently in the process of making his Hippo cake.
