Who doesn't love a Kit Kat?

The boys love having a piece of their Hallween Candy after dinner. Drew is no different, he sees the candy bags come out and he starts screeching for a piece. His item of choice is a kit kat bar. He can make quite a mess while enjoying it! Everyone needs a "break" once in a while.

November in Kentucky

We have been living in Kentucky for 6 months now!!!! I can't believe it has been that long some days and others it feels like we have been here for longer than that. Seeing as this is our first winter season away from the upper midwest, we are seeing a ton of differences.

  • Hardly anyone has the Old Navy Halloween costumes because it is to warm to wear a heavy costume.

  • It was still light out around 7 pm while we were trick or treating.

  • It is just about 8 am here on Nov 3 and it is still dark out!

  • We haven't even heard talk of any possible snow flakes headed our way!

  • Some kids are still wearing shorts to school.

  • Basketball season is getting started (college basketball is huge around here)

We are embracing the differences of our new area and loving the fact we don't have any snow in sight. I bought the boys winter coats a couple weeks ago and Costco and I am starting to think that they will hardly wear them this winter.

All three boys had a great Halloween. We are in a neighborhood that attracts trick or treating. The streets/sidewalks were packed on Halloween night. Most people sit on their driveway since the flow of trick or treaters is never ending. I think Collin was most excited to hand candy out once we got home. Shawn kept counting the bags of m and m's as we were trick or treating. Drew has discovered that Kit Kat's are his favorite food.
Here are some Halloween pictures as promised. I WILL be posting next week as we are getting closer to someones first birthday!!!

Happy Halloween

I know some of you keep looking for a new post and I keep disappointing you....big post to come this week!

I just sent Collin and Shawn off to school, Halloween, with no costumes in hand and no plans for any Halloween party while they are at school today. It is just another school day at their school not filled with Halloween parades or Halloween parties. You know your kids are getting big when these are not part of the special day. Both boys are excited about Trick or Treating tonight though. I am excited for Drew since I made him a really cute costume! He has worn it to two Halloween events already and people can tell what he is suppose to be! An added bonus when you make the costume yourself. I WILL post pictures on Micah's facebook account tonight and the blog this week.

Happy Halloween!

First Day of School

We all remember at least one of our "First Days of School". Today was Collin's first day of 1st grade and Shawn's first day of Kindergarten (and his first time on the bus to school). I want to say they both got on the bus excited about school but I know Shawn was apprehensive of the bus and finding his classroom. I was excited for them though. We have been here 3 months now and we have met a good amount of people in the area but the boys still long for more interaction with friends. Shawn loved school in Wisconsin and for him it has been 3 months since he has been in school. Collin was at school here for a month so hopefully that will help him feel familiar with the school as he starts.

As for Drew, he will be an only child Monday-Friday. Since he will be still asleep when the boys leave and taking a nap when they get home, he won't see them till after 4 o'clock. Our happy baby is going to miss his brothers. He loves "playing" with them and I am sure will be ecstatic when he sees them in the afternoon.
