You are never to old to have fun!

Micah sometimes enjoys things as much as the kids if not more... Here are some pictures of what we did this wonderful holiday weekend!

I love Micah so much and am glad he still is a kid at heart! (pictures with the boys to come!)

Flag Painting

This morning we spent some time talking about the holiday with the boys. Collin could even name a few states we have lived in. Shawn wasn't interested, but they both loved painting.
They were asked to paint a flag. I showed them an example and off they went.

Collin was excited to paint the strips.

Shawn was just excited to paint and mix the colors.

Collin's final flag! Mom and Dad helped with the blue square.

Shawn's second attempt at the flag. I drew a few stripes and then he drew a bunch!

Happy Fourth of July!

Road Work

I know many of you are like me, I hate road work season. It means more traffic and sometimes narrow lanes.
Here in our neighborhood, they are replacing the roads. The boys think it is the best thing ever! We have watched them tear out curbs and pour new ones. Today they are removing the old road. The boys ate lunch outside enjoying the trucks. It was a good 40 minutes of uninterrupted entertainment for them.

Shawn's favorite is the dump truck and Collin like the "Dumper"

A picnic lunch and road construction... I am glad that the little things in life are what they enjoy most!

The Minnesota Zoo

We recently got back from a trip to Minnesota. It was our first trip back to Minnesota since we moved. The main reason was a wedding for one of my good friends...Congrats Don and Julie.
While we were in Minnesota, we went to the zoo with some cousins (they are actually Micah's first cousins)

They had a summer exhibit that had giraffes, zebras, and other animals. The kids loved the giraffes eating leaves from the trees.

A great thing about this zoo is the splash pad area. We actually stopped at it twice, some kids willing to get more wet than others. Davanika was by far the most willing to get wet. Shawn was the one most not willing!

Another exciting exhibit, were the bears. They were all lying around and relaxing today but sometimes they are swimming and catching fish. Look behind Shawn to find the bears.

Third time the charm!

I am pleased to report that Collin has finally caught a fish. While out in Minnesota visiting Grandma and Grandpa, we were able to go fishing on two separate occasions (we went once before our trip). The first time we went in MN, it was hot and fishing interests were low. Both Collin and Shawn were more excited about finding worms to use while fishing rather than fishing. We then went a second time in the evening after it rained and cooled off. With help from Grandpa, a fish was caught! Collin was so excited to have caught a fish and tells everyone it was really big.

Name the fish. If you think you know what kind of fish it is, leave a comment.

Shawn also attempted to do some fishing. He mostly would check on the worm to see if it was still on the line. When telling others about fishing he says. "I went fishing with a worm!" He loves animals, even worms.

End of year Program

Collin finished preschool a couple of weeks ago, but I have been meaning to share this video with oy. He got to play an instrument in the end program and he was so excited to play the cymbals. He watched the teacher very closely for his cue to play and play he did...During a different song, Collin was the loudest instrument player and I couldn't help but laugh.

Enjoy!
